Are you on Road Runner and still not receiving emails from the school?  Here’s a quick fix to get you back in the loop until the school’s system works smoothly. By creating a free email account on gmail and setting up an automatic forward command for mail from the school, you should FINALLY be able to receive all those school newsletters you’ve been missing.  At least, that’s what I’ve heard.  :)   It is worth a try.  These steps shouldn’t take longer than 5 minutes.

1.  Go to gmail to register for a free email account.  Follow the instructions for registration.  You will be asked for a name, an account name for the new email  (something like Mr.X@gmail.com), a default email address and security questions.  That’s all.

2.  Once you’ve set up the account, the new mail page should open.  Select “create a filter” from the list next to the search bar at the top of the page.

3.  In the filter menu that opens, type “sp_contact@schoolpointe.com” in the <From:>  field.  Click Next Step.

4.  Select “forward this to” and type in your REAL email address at Road Runner.

5.  Now, mail that comes to your gmail account from school pointe (Chagrin Schools) will be forwarded to your primary email automatically.  You need never visit gmail again, if you wish to walk away.   (But – you will now have a separate email account to register at any site you suspect will bring you nothing but spam!)

6.  FINAL step.  Go to the school website. Click the Sign Up for E-Newsletter option on the left sidebar.  On the page that opens, select New Users Click Here.  Register your new email address at gmail for email communication from the school.

7.  Silently rejoice.  :)   Hope that this works.    I’ve been told that it does.
