Thank You…
|
|
The Chagrin Falls PTO would like to say thank you. It is that simple. Every year we are amazed at the support that we receive from the school and parent community. This support allows us to further our mission of promoting the education and welfare of our children by supporting the educational objectives of the school district, providing enrichment through monies raised by fundraising, and helping to enhance the curriculum through the use of parent volunteers.
As a result of our membership drive this fall, we had over 400 Chagrin families and staff members join the PTO. We have also just concluded two of our yearly fundraisers, the annual Sloppy Joe Dinner at the Middle School and the PTO District Fundraiser. At the Middle School, over 40 parent and student volunteers help to serve more than 390 guests a delicious sloppy joe dinner prior to the Homecoming football game. In addition, approximately 420 Chagrin students sold enough rolls of wrapping paper and tubs of cookie dough to allow us to continue with the fulfillment of numerous grants.
In 2011 alone, from February until July, the PTO provided almost $27,000 in new materials and training. These funds were spread among all the buildings and were used to pay for things such as Live Scribe Pens at Gurney, a COSI Visiting Science seminar for the Intermediate School, funds to help bring Challenge Day to the Middle School this November and classroom enhancements for the High School like a Chemistry balance and ten laptops for the Art Department. This tremendous support allows us to continue the PTO tradition of giving back.
So thank you for choosing to support the Chagrin Falls PTO and our programs. We are truly grateful to our members and the families that support us.

Next PTO Meeting
The next general PTO meeting will be held on March 21, 2012 at the Sands Community Room. As always, everyone is welcome. Nomination for next year's officers and a presentation of the recommendations of the Financial Planning committee are planned. In April, our membership will vote on our major funding projects for this year.
